Oroville, Calif. - Freshman hurler Savannah Wahl tossed a two-hitter complete-game shutout to lead the No. 2 Roadrunners to an 8-0 win in six innings over No. 15 Merced on Friday afternoon.
Wahl fanned 10 of the 23 batters faced, while also counting the walk-ff RBI-single in the sixth inning at the plate.
Freshman Dylan Gonzalez went yard to score three and went 1-for-2 with four RBI and a pair of runs on the day. Freshman Alexis Detwiler went 2-for-4 with a RBI and double, while freshman Hayley Sites went 2-for-2 with a run.
Butte (40-1) continues its regional series against Merced on Saturday, May 7 at 12 p.m. If necessary, game three will begin at approximately 2 p.m.
