Top-Seeded Roadrunners Advance to Final Four for First Time in 30 Years; Charge Past Chargers

Lemoore, Calif. - For the first time since 1993, the NorCal top-seeded Butte women's basketball team has advanced to the CCCAA Final Four, cruising past Cypress, 72-48, on Friday evening.

NorCal Player of the Year sophomore Meghan Weinrich scored 31 points with 17 rebounds with three assists, two steals, and two blocked shots to lead all players on the court. Freshman Sarah Tait chipped in 12 points and seven boards.

After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Roadrunners held the Chargers to just six points in the second quarter to take a 31-22 lead into the break. Weinrich scored 11 of the team's 19 points in the third quarter to help add a pair of points to the Roadrunners' lead before the team shut down Cypress with a 22-9 rout to close out the game.

Sophomore Sanaya Shrader and freshman Jordan Arreola added seven points apiece with sophomore Cassidy King knocking down a pair of key three-pointers early in the game. King added six rebounds and a game-high eight assists.

The Roadrunners (27-3) will face No. 2(S) Palomar on Saturday, Mar. 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, and the game will be livestreamed.
