Oroville, Calif. - The Butte baseball team tallied 22 hits en route to a 22-1 win over Yuba on Monday afternoon.
Sophomore Evan Stauch led the Roadrunner battery with a 3-for-6 performance with a pair of homers, three runs scored, and six RBI. Sophomore Ryan McCarthy was close behind, going 2-for-2 with a three-run bomb, double, three runs scored, and five RBI. Sophomore Alex Garcia posted a 3-for-3 outing with a pair of doubles. Overall, six Roadrunners tallied multi-hit games, and there were 11 extra-base hits.
On the mound, sophomore Kyle Kucich (2-0) earned the win after tossing a two-hitter in three innings pitched with a couple of strikeouts. Sophomore Bryson Reif started things off for the team, also tossing a two-hitter in three innings, but fanning six.
Butte (5-2) remains home, hosting West Valley next on Thursday, Feb. 9. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
