Oroville, Calif. - Sophomore Anthony Montoya scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Butte men's basketball team to a 83-75 win over No. 4 Yuba on Wednesday evening.
Montoya was backed up by freshman Donnell Basden's 20 points off the bench with Basden adding four rebounds and a pair of assists. Freshman Rashad Samuels and sophomore Marvelous Owens rounded out the Butte shooters in double figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Samuels also tallied four assists and three steals.
The Roadrunners took a six-point lead into the break, edging the 49ers by a pair in the final 20 minutes and forcing 20 total turnovers in the contest.
Butte (5-6) head back out on the road to No. 7 Sequoias on Saturday, Dec. 9 for a 3 p.m. tip.
