Sacramento, Calif. - The No. 13 Butte softball team dropped a pair of contests on the road to No. 8 Sacramento City, 5-2 and 11-3 (6), on Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, sophomore Hayley Sites went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI single in the third inning, while freshman Kylee Richhart went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a double in game two. Sophomore Alexis Detwiler also posted a multi-hit game in the backend of the doubleheader with a double and two runs scored.
Sophomore Maggie Smith (2-2) was the pitcher of record in the first game, going 4.2 innings. Sophomore Kiya Hamar ended the game with a one-hitter and two strikeouts.
In game two, freshman Avery Jolley (0-3) was charged with the loss after a 4.2 inning appearance with four strikeouts.
Butte (2-5) remains on the road, heading to Mendocino next on Friday, Feb. 10 for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 12 p.m.
