Bio

Coach Correa begins his tenure as Head Coach of Lady Roadrunners Softball, after serving as the Head Assistant (Softball) and Catching/Hitting Coach (Baseball) last year.

Correa had his first taste of coaching collegiate athletics last year with the Butte Baseball program, led by ABCA Coach of the Year Anthony Ferro, where he hit the ground running. Working with the catchers and hitters, he was a integral part of the Roadrunners success hosting the first Super Regional in program history, led by their First Team All Conference Catcher (Pawloski ‘24). Under the guidance and tutelage of Coach Ferro, Correa was able to see everyday what it takes to win and guide to players at the college level.

Another aspect Correa learned from Ferro is how committed he is to the program's goal of not only producing quality players, but quality people as well. He believes that success in the classroom is mandatory for the student-athletes, and he is committed to helping his players move toward a college degree. This will be ingrained in his players as well..

Before taking over the Butte Softball program, Correa served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Butte (baseball). Before that, Correa spent over 3 years coaching travel ball for the Chico Aces organization, where he was tasked with teaching the game to the athletes playing the standard field for the first time in their lives. While coaching for the Aces he was an integral part of guiding various players to 4 year success and even professional opportunities.

Prior to the Chico Aces, Correa was the head Teaching Professional at the Links at Rolling Hills Golf Course and Assistant Head Professional at Wilcox Oaks Golf Course in Red Bluff, CA.

Correa, received his AA from Lassen Community College with an emphasis in Social Sciences after he finished playing there where he was honored with a All-GVC Honorable Mention after hitting .333 in conference. Injuries started to plague him during his Jr and Sr seasons, where he finally called it quits after making an attempt at professional baseball. He found golf shortly after and took to it quickly, becoming a scratch golfer in the matter of a year and a half. He then played a season at Sierra Jr College where he helped his team to the CCCAA state playoffs where they finished 7th. Shortly after he turned pro and has won a few times.2 Club Champion (’18) Troon Challege Medalist (‘18/’19) NCGA Two-Man Scramble Champion (’20) VGA State Champion (Oregon ’21) VGA Western Regional Champion (’21) and VGA National Championship Runner Up (’21). He currently still holds his professional status and plans to compete again soon.

A native of Sacramento, CA, Correa currently resides in Chico, Calif with his wife Martha and cat, Chuck.
