Redding, Calif. - The No. 4 Butte women's basketball team downed Shasta, 67-40, on Wednesday evening.
Freshman Sarah Tait led all scorers with 15 points with five steals, while sophomore Meghan Weinrich chipped in a 13-point, seven rebound, five assist, and five steal performance. Sophomore Sanaya Shrader added 10 points and nine boards.
After a slow first quarter, the Roadrunners regrouped, outscoring the Knights 19-7 to take an eight-point lead into the locker room at halftime. The team built on its lead with a 12-point edge in the third before closing things out with a seven-point advantage in the final 10 minutes.
Butte (22-3, 7-1) returns home for Sophomore Day, hosting Redwoods at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11.
