Oroville, Calif. - Freshman Madalynn Bassett counted 24 points to lead the No. 4 Butte women's basketball team to a 90-40 win over Redwoods to clinch the GVC title for the third-straight year on Saturday afternoon.
Bassett shot 6-of-9 from beyond the arc, adding three assists off the bench. Sophomore Sanaya Shrader nearly tallied a double-double with 12 points and nine boards, while sophomore Meghan Weinrich and freshman Jordan Arreola chipped in nine apiece. Weinrich added eight boards and a pair of assists, while Arreola tallied three assists.
Butte (23-3, 8-1) heads to Lassen next to wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Tip off is slated for 7 p.m.
