Oroville, Calif. - For the second-straight game, freshman Morgan Trigueiro paced the No. 2 Butte women's basketball team's offense with 33 points as the Roadrunners ran past No. 10 Folsom Lake, 87-67, on Friday evening.
Trigueiro hit 11 of her 18 attempted three-pointers, matching the energy that Folsom Lake opened the game. Overall, the team hit 17 three-pointers in the game, shooting 54.8 percent from three-point range.
Freshman Jocelyn Medina was close behind with 23 points of her own on 6-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. Medina added seven rebounds and three assists. Freshman Campbell Vieg nearly posted a double-double with 11 assists and eight points with four rebounds and a couple of steals, while sophomore Sarah Tait chipped in a five rebounds, five assists, and seven points effort.
Butte (6-1) heads on the road to No. 12 Laney on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
