168 Student-Athletes Earn Scholar-Athlete Status for Spring 2023

Oroville, Calif. - The Butte Athletics Department is pleased to announce that 168 student-athletes were named Butte Athletics Scholar-Athletes for the Spring 2023 semester.

Overall, 107 student-athletes achieved at least a 3.5 GPA and 46 had a perfect 4.0 GPA. The football team boasted the most selections with 22 with baseball in second with 21. The athletics department had 236 total student-athletes during the Spring 2023 term.

Baseball posted the best male team GPA (3.30), and women's basketball earned the top female team GPA (3.76) with the entire roster earning a 3.00 GPA or better.

To be eligible for scholar-athlete status, a minimum 3.0 GPA is required, as well as the student-athlete must have completed at least 12 units. Additionally, the student must have been cleared for competition and listed on the team's respective Form 3.
