No. 10 Roadrunners Hold on for 4-3 Win over No. 7 Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa, Calif. - Freshman Peter Andrews started things off for the Roadrunners with a solo shot down the left field line before the 10th-seeded Butte baseball team held on for a 4-3 regional series opening win over seventh-seeded Santa Rosa on Friday afternoon.

Andrews went 2-for-4 on the day and was backed up by freshman Austin York's big offensive day at the plate, posting a 2-for-4 outing with a two-RBI double and a solo homer also down the left field line for three RBI on the day.

Freshman Logan Meyers (9-3) tossed seven complete from the mound, scattering six hits and allowing only two solo home runs with three strikeouts. Freshman Sergio Gutierrez earned his eighth save of the season, throwing a one-hitter and fanning a pair over two innings.

Butte (27-14) heads back to Santa Rosa for game two on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. with an as necessary game to be played at 2 p.m. in the best-of-three series.
