Baseball Wraps 2022 Ranked No. 15

Oroville, Calif. - The Butte baseball team wrapped up 2022 ranked No. 15 in the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) State Top 25 poll, announced Thursday.

The Roadrunners jumped up six spots from the last poll, tabbed 10th in the north for postseason play. The team swept No. 7 Santa Rosa to advance to the program's first Super Regional appearance at Folsom Lake. 

Freshman Sergio Gutierrez was a bright spot as a reliever on the mound for Butte in postseason play with 8.2 innings of four-hit ball and only one earned run.

The Roadrunners finished the 2022 campaign with a 28-16 overall record and 18-7 in Golden Valley Conference play, good for second.
