Oroville, Calif. - Sophomore Ryan McCarthy batted a perfect 4-for-4 to lift the Butte baseball team to a 11-4 series-opening win over West Valley on Thursday afternoon.
McCarthy belted two homers, tallying five RBI. Sophomore Patrick Barry backed him up with a 3-for-4 performance with a double and a pair of runs.
Sophomore Carson Seeman (1-0) started the game, going five complete and fanning five. Sophomore Kyle Kucich wrapped things up, earning his first save of the season, scattering a couple of hits.
Butte (6-2) takes on West Valley in game two of the series on Friday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
