Roadrunners Dominate Knights in Series Finale

Redding, Calif. - The Butte baseball team tallied 21 hits en route to a dominating win over Shasta, 22-5, on Thursday afternoon in the five-game series finale. The win marks the second conference sweep this season.

Sophomore Ryan McCarthy posted the team's lone extra-base hit with a RBI double in the first inning, going 2-for-3 on the day with a pair of RBI. Eight Roadrunners counted multi-hit games, led by freshman Jason Olsen's four hits on seven at bats with three RBI and a pair of runs. Olsen added the team's lone stolen base.

Freshman Carter Lyons went 3-for-6 with a couple of RBI, and sophomore John Lanterman went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Sophomore Carson Seeman (6-1) threw six complete, allowing only two hits and one run, while fanning four. Sophomores Jaeden Fraley and Hayden Bode and freshman Hunter Timothy rounded out the pitching rotation.

Butte (25-4, 13-2) returns home to host Redwoods in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Apr. 11. The twinbill is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
