Seeman, Ferro, Cleary Earn Top Honors; Baseball Lands 16 Conference Honors

Oroville, Calif. - Butte baseball head coach Anthony Ferro, assistant coach Frankie Cleary, and pitcher Carson Seeman took top Golden Valley Conference honors, announced Saturday.

Ferro was named the Coach of the Year, Cleary earned Assistant Coach of the Year, and Seeman was tabbed Pitcher of the Year. The Roadrunners nabbed additional four first team honors (sophomores Landon Gomes - OF, Aidan Moore - OF, Bryson Reif - LHP, and Evan Stauch - INF), while counting eight second team selections (sophomores Jake Agarwal - OF, Patrick Barry - INF, Danelle Daniels - OF, Ryan McCarthy - DH, Caleb Schaeffer - RHP; and freshmen Carter Lyons - INF, Jason Olsen - 1B, and Hunter Timothy - RHP) and one honorable mention nod (sophomore Kyle Kucich - RHP).

Ferro led the Roadrunners to its first full regular-season GVC title since 2016 with a 21-4 conference mark. And Clearly led the pitchers to a 3.97 staff ERA, averaging 8.33 strikeouts per nine innings.

In his one season with the Roadrunners, Seeman started and made 12 appearances on the bump, tossing 75 innings with a 9-1 record. He threw two complete games, averaging 7.56 strikeouts per nine innings while posting a 2.76 ERA. Seeman earned CCCBCA NorCal Pitcher of the Week honors in week nine.

Gomes played in 36 games this season, averaging .375 at the plate with 11 doubles and two homers. He tallied 28 RBI with 12 stolen bases and 39 total runs.

Moore appeared in 38 games for the Roadrunners, tallying nine doubles and three home runs in his 45 total hits. He ended the regular season batting .378 with 26 RBI, 43 runs, and four stolen bases.

Reif secured his spot as the third starter on the hill with 10 appearances and a 6-0 record. He threw 47.2 innings with a 3.02 ERA, averaging 9.82 strikeouts per nine innings.

Stauch continued his hot hitting from his rookie season at Redwoods, posting a .354 average with 41 hits, including nine doubles, one triple, and 10 home runs. He earned 51 RBI with 36 runs and a .639 slugging percentage.

Agarwal also had a hot bat throughout the season, playing in 30 games with a .394 batting average. He earned 12 doubles and a pair of home runs of his 37 total hits. Agarwal added 30 runs, 30 RBI, and five stolen bases.

Barry was solid on defense for the Roadrunners at shortstop, while also adding 39 hits with nine doubles and a couple of triples. He batted .291 with six stolen bases, 24 RBI, and 37 runs.

Daniels, a preseason All-American, played in 39 games this season, batting .295 with 31 hits, including seven doubles and nine homers. He stole 10 bases with 24 RBI and 32 runs.

McCarthy, the week two CCCBCA NorCal Player of the Week, played in 34 games, batting .354 with 35 hits, including eight doubles and eight home runs. He posted a .677 slugging percentage and .528 on-base percentage, adding 37 RBI and 31 runs.

Schaeffer made 13 appearances in relief this season, throwing 30 total innings with a 3.30 ERA. He posted a 3-1 record with 35 strikeouts (10.50 k/9) and added one save.

Lyons played in 37 games for the Roadrunners, batting .324 with three doubles on 35 total hits. He added seven stolen bases, 16 RBI, and 27 runs.

Olsen was one of the most hit batters this season, playing in 36 games with a .304 batting average. He was hit 14 times, while counting 35 hits with four doubles, one triple, and two homers. Olsen added 13 stolen bases, 25 RBI, and 23 runs.

Timothy was the second starter behind Seeman, making 12 appearances - 11 starts - for 60.2 total innings pitched. He posted a 5.19 ERA with a 4-2 record, including one complete. Overall, he fanned 52 batters (7.71 k/9).

And Kucich wrapped up his career at Butte with 14 appearances on the bump, including one start. He went 3-0 with five saves in 30.1 innings pitched. Overall, Kucich has a 3.26 ERA, averaging 6.82 strikeouts per nine innings.
