Olsen Captures ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Honor

Greensboro, N.C. - Freshman first baseman Jason Olsen captured the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honor, announced Wednesday.

Olsen posted a perfect fielding percentage at first base, appearing in 38 games with 251 putouts and 14 assists, including helping turn 16 double plays. Offensively, he batted .287 with 35 hits, including four doubles, one triple, and a pair of home runs, adding 25 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and scoring 23 runs. He was hit by pitch 14 times and drew eight walks, earning a .393 on-base percentage.

He wrapped his rookie season with All-GVC Honorable Mention honors, and he is the first Roadrunner to be named to the Gold Glove Team since second baseman David Henderson in 2011.
