Baseball Takes Series Finale against Skyline in Walkoff Fashion

Oroville, Calif. - Sophomore Brody Boyle singled down the third base line to bring home the gamewinning run in walkoff fashion for a 8-7 win in the series finale against Skyline on Saturday afternoon.

On the day, Boyle went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a stolen base.

Freshman Aidan Robles went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and a RBI, while sophomore Jason Olsen went 3-for-5 with a double and RBI. Sophomores Carter Lyons and Connor Pawlowski rounded out the Roadrunners with multi-hit outings with a pair each, including a double by Pawlowski.

Freshman Brandon Doran (1-0) was credited with the win on the hill, tossing two complete.

In game one of the series on Friday, Feb. 2, the team fell 11-5. Lyons and freshman Ethan Thomas both recorded a couple of hits with Lyons tallying a double and RBI with a stolen base.

Sophomore Hunter Timothy (0-2) was charged with the loss, throwing four complete and allowing a pair of earned runs while fanning five.

And in Saturday's opening contest of the twinbill, the Roadrunners came up short, 12-0, in the seven-inning matchup. Freshman Jaden Thomson and Thomas both recorded hits, while sophomore Jack Nilsson (0-1) was the pitcher of record after three innings of work.

Butte (3-3) remains home, hosting Sacramento City next on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.
