Baseball Sweeps Shasta in Series Finale

Oroville, Calif. - The Butte baseball team completed the five-game series sweep of Shasta, taking game three 10-0 in seven innings, game four 13-1, and winning the finale 5-3.

In game one, sophomore Hunter Timothy picked up the win on the bump, hurling a four-hitter and facing the minimum 21 batters in the complete-game shutout, while fanning a pair.

Freshman Aiden Robles went 2-for-3 at the plate, both doubles, while freshman Carter Imbach also tallied a pair of hits on three at bats with a double and three RBI. Freshmen Jaden Thomson and Luke Zuromski both earned a pair of RBI each, while freshman Trent Van Nuys and sophomore Carter Lyons counted a pair of hits each.

Thomson continued to have a hot bat in game two, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple with three RBI. Lyons also recorded another multi-hit game with a pair of hits and RBI with Robles and freshman Ryan Wheeler each tallying a pair of RBI.

Sophomore Shaw Lee earned the win on the mound, going six complete and striking out five.

And in the series finale, freshman Jordan Riley was the winning pitcher for the Roadrunners, throwing a pair of innings in relief, allowing only one hit.

Six Roadrunners earned multi-hit games led by Imbach's 2-for-4 performance with a double and stolen base. Lyons and sophomore Connor Pawlowski both earned doubles and a RBI apiece in their 2-for-4 outings.

Butte (23-10, 15-4) heads to Redwoods next to wrap the conference series against the Corsairs on Friday, Apr. 12 in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
