Roadrunners Down Redwoods To Take Series

Oroville, Calif. - Despite moving locations and halting the first of two games due to weather, the Butte baseball team downed Redwoods, 8-2 and 11-5, to take the five-game conference series.

The teams got through four complete on Sunday before halting the game due to rain with the Roadrunners leading 4-2.

Coming back on Monday, freshman Mason Ali (8-0) entered the game, taking over for sophomore Hunter Timothy, and threw a one-hit, four-inning outing with freshman Jack Walden finishing the game.

Offensively, freshman Carter Imbach went yard to score two, while sophomore Connor Pawlowski went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Freshman Aidan Robles went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI, and freshman Drew Carrington counted a double and two RBI.

The offense continued in game two with Carrington hitting a long ball for a couple of RBI, while Pawlowski again was perfect at the plate with four hits, including a double, and two RBI.

Freshman Jacob Cullen (1-1) recorded the win, pitching 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, while fanning four.

Butte (25-10, 17-4) hosts Lassen in a single contest next on Friday, Apr. 19 at 1 p.m.
