O'Neal Nabs Defensive Player of the Week

Chico, Calif. - Sophomore outside linebacker Elijah O'Neal has nabbed the NCFC National Division Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week 3, announced Wednesday.

O'Neal racked up 12 total tackles in the upset of No. 1 San Francisco - nine solo - including five sacks, seven tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, and caused a safety. 

This marks the second weekly honor for Butte after sophomore wide receiver Jailen Hammer was named the NCFC National Division Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1.

The No. 8 Roadrunners head to No. 21 Modesto next on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
