Oroville, Calif. - A 27-point, second-half shutout propelled the No. 14 Butte football squad to a 46-20 upset of No. 7 Sierra on Saturday afternoon.

The Roadrunners got off to a quick start, quickly posting a 12-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game. Back-to-back Sierra touchdowns with a third coming with seconds remaining gave the Wolverines the 20-19 edge going into the locker room at the half, despite sophomore Caleb Ramseur's first touchdown late in the second quarter. But coming out of the break, it was all Butte. The team counted two touchdowns per quarter to put the game away.

Sophomore Tanner Hughes went 11-for-15 for 212 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Roadrunners. Both sophomores Rieger Sayre and Hunter Povlsen both were perfect in passing attempts with Sayre connecting with sophomore Chandler Monahan for the first career touchdown for Monahan.

Sophomore Jailen Hammer was the target for a pair of Hughes' touchdown passes with sophomore Logan Blair earning the third on his lone reception of the game for 53 yards. On the day, Hammer earned five catches for a total of 125 yards.
