Four Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-State Honors

Oroville, Calif. - Four Butte football student-athletes earned California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) Academic All-State honors, announced Tuesday.

Sophomore punter Dante Jackson led the way with a perfect GPA, while sophomores Kitron Ferrier (OL), Jailen Hammer (WR), and Alex Tapia (OL) also were recognized.

Jackson, a 4.00 business administration major, averaged 41.4 yards per punt during his career, with 33 of his 74 landing inside the 20 yardline. As a freshman, his long was 70, while in 2022, he earned a long of 73 against San Francisco.

Ferrier, a 3.83 computer information systems major, and Tapia, a 3.72 agriculture business major, played in nearly every game on the offensive line.

And Hammer, a 3.64 business administration major, played in 17 games over his career, amassing 800 yards as a sophomore (80.0 ypg) with an average of 19 yards per reception and scoring 14 touchdowns.
