Three More Ink NLI's with DI Schools

Oroville, Calif. - Three more Butte football players have inked NLI's with NCAA Division I schools, announced Wednesday.

Quarterback Tanner Hughes, kicker/punter Dante Jackson, and wide receiver Jailen Hammer are continuing their athletic and academic careers are the next level.

Hughes is heading to Iowa State after directing the Butte offense in a 11 games last season, playing in 18 total games over his career. He was 153-250 (61.2 percent) over his career for 2,193 yards (127.9 ypg) for 25 career touchdowns. He tossed a long of 77 and only threw five picks. Additionally, he racked up 275 rushing yards for nine touchdowns.

Jackson signed with Akron after finishing second in the state for average punt yards in 2023. He played in all 22 games during his two-year career, averaging 41.4 yards per punt with a long of 73 and 33 landing in the 20. As a kicker, he tallied 10 field goals with a long of 51, adding 47 extra points.

And Hammer is going to Ohio after setting the single-season touchdown receptions record last season. Overall, he played in 17 games for the Roadrunners, amassing 800 reception yards (51.8 ypg) with 15 touchdowns.
