Cowan-Beck and Garretson Ink with Four-Year Schools

Oroville, Calif. - Sophomore offensive lineman Josiah Cowan-Beck and freshman tight end Gabe Garretson signed with four-year schools during the early signing period on Wednesday to continue their athletic and academic careers.

Cowan-Beck inked with Southwest Minnesota State (NCAA Division II) after playing two years for the Roadrunners on the line on both sides of the ball. In 2022, Cowan-Beck tallied 19 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. SMSU finished the 2023 season with a 2-9 record under second-year head coach Scott Underwood.

Garretson, mainly used as a blocking tight end during his lone season with the Roadrunners, counted four receptions for 64 yards with a long of 25 yards. He signed with San Diego State (NCAA Division I FBS), who finished the 2023 campaign with a 4-8 record. SDSU just named a new head coach in Sean Lewis.
