Vaughn Headed to Hawai'i

Las Vegas, Nev. - All-American sophomore running back Christian Vaughn is headed to Hawai'i (NCAA Division I FBS), signing a NLI with the Rainbow Warriors during the early signing period.

Vaughn led the state all season in rushing yards, earning 1,456 total yards on 206 attempts (132.4 ypg) with 18 touchdowns and a long of 84 yards. He scored four touchdowns in 2023 against then top-ranked San Mateo to lead the offense. Overall, he counted 1,806 yards on 281 carries, averaging 6.4 yards per carry with 21 touchdowns. He added 12 receptions for 145 yards.

The Rainbow Warriors finished 2023 with a 5-8 record under second-year head coach Timmy Chang.

Vaughn becomes the first Butte student-athlete in 10 years to sign with Hawai'i. Kicker/punter Rigoberto Sanchez was the last Roadrunner to head to the island.
