Livermore, Calif. - The Butte men's basketball team edged Contra Costa, 73-71, on Friday afternoon at the Tony Costello Tip-Off.
Sophomore Anthony Montoya led the Roadrunners with 15 points with five assists, while freshman Rashad Samuels was close behind with 14 points, adding five boards, four assists, and six steals. Sophomore Tanner Stephens went 4-for-5 from the field, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc with three steals.
Butte (1-1) will face Los Medanos to wrap up the Tony Costello Tip-Off for fifth place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
