Three Roadrunners to Join Four-Year Programs

Oroville, Calif. - Three Butte men's soccer players signed to continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year schools, announced Wednesday.

Freshman midfielder Idriss Oubrik led the way, signing his Letter of Intent with NCAA Division I Cal State Northridge, while freshman midfielder Homan Esmailnejad signed with NCAA Division II West Texas A&M, and freshman Jose Galla rounded out the group with NAIA Waldorf.

Oubrik started 13 matches for Butte last season, scoring a goal and tallying four assists. Esmailnejad started nine games with a pair of assists on the season, and Galla started one game with one goal and three total shots.

The men's soccer team finished the season 14-3-3 overall, 8-1-1 in Golden Valley Conference play. The Roadrunners earned the No. 5 seed in the north but fell to No. 12 Taft in penalty kicks in the first round of playoffs.
