Oroville, Calif. - Freshman Lenny Dupouyet netted the Butte men's soccer team's first goal of the season as the Roadrunners battled to a 1-1 draw against Modesto in the season opener on Friday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Modesto took the 1-0 edge in the 57th minute before Dupouyet equalized the match off of a feed from freshman Eugenio Kunz Quintanar in the 81st minute.
Sophomore Noris Iten played all 90 minutes in the goal, counting a pair of saves.
The Roadrunners (0-0-1) go on the road to face Cosumnes River next on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
