Brandon Smith, Men's Track and Field

Freshman Brandon Smith is the Butte Athletics April Male Athlete of the Month.

Smith led the Butte men's track and field javelin efforts, setting a state-best mark of 59.83 meters at the Black and Gold Invite (Apr. 14), consistently setting marks over 50 meters in all four meets he competed in over the month.

He won the Shasta College Spring Break Kick Off Meet (Apr. 8) with a mark of 54.45m before being named the Golden Valley Conference Champion with a throw of 59.19 at the conference championships (Apr. 28).

Consistently throughout the month, he outthrew the second place finisher by an average of 10 meters.
