No. 2 Roadrunners Advance to Super Regionals with 9-1 Win over No. 15 Merced

Oroville, Calif. - The second-seeded Roadrunners punched their ticket to advance to Super Regionals with a 9-1 win in six innings over 15th-seeded Merced on Saturday afternoon.

At the plate, freshmen Mary Avila and Savannah Wahl both tallied doubles. Wahl went 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run, while Avila went 2-for-3 with a RBI. Leadoff batter freshman Ashley Carbah posted a 2-for-4 outing, scoring three runs. Freshmen Dylan Gonzalez, Alexis Detwiler, and Laney Berkowitz all earned a couple of RBI each.

Freshman Maggie Smith counted the win in the circle, throwing 4.1 innings with three strikeouts. Freshman Kiiya Hamar threw the remaining outs, allowing only one hit with a pair of strikeouts.

Butte (41-1) will host No. 10 Folsom Lake on Friday, May 13 at 2 p.m. 

Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for senior citizens (60+), children 12 and under, students (with valid ID), and faculty and staff each day. All tickets must be purchased via the Butte Athletics Box Office or via check at the ticket table on the day of game.
