Wahl Adds Another All-America Honor to Resume

Austin, Texas - Freshman pitcher/infielder Savannah Wahl added another All-America honor, tabbed to the 2022 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Women's At-Large College Division Team, announced Wednesday.

Wahl joins former football quarterback and track and field student-athlete Brian Harper as the lone California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) honoree on the nine-woman list with a perfect 4.0 GPA with multiple degrees in Social and Behavioral Science, Kinesiology, Psychology, and Biology.

She earned a slew of accolades during the 2022 softball season, including Golden Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, 3CFCA NorCal All-State Pitcher of the Year, NFCA First Team Cal JC Division All-American, and Butte College Female Athlete of the Year. With her work in the circle, at first base, and at the plate, Wahl led the Roadrunners to a 43-3 record - the best in the state last season - and what is believed to be the first CCCAA State Championships appearance (Elite Eight) in school history. 

The college division includes two-year institutions, Canadian institutions, and any United States four-year institutions that are not affiliated with the NCAA or NAIA.

Wahl is the first CCCAA female selection since the CoSIDA College Division included two-year colleges in the 2018-19 academic year.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and must be nominated by an active, dues-paying CoSIDA member. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games, as well as pitchers must have at least 10.0 innings pitched. Additionally, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible.
