No. 9 Softball Blanks Lassen Twice on Sophomore Day

Oroville, Calif. - The duo of sophomore Alexis Detwiler and freshman Kylee Richhart boosted the No. 9 Butte softball team to two 8-0 wins in six and five innings, respectively, on Wednesday afternoon on Sophomore Day.

Detwiler, Addison Boster, Kiya Hamar, Hayley Sites, Maggie Smith, and Grace Stearns were all honored prior to first pitch, playing in their last regular season home game. 

In game one, Detwiler counted her eighth home run of the year on her 3-for-3 performance with a homer and a double, six RBI, and two runs scored. Richhart added a double and Sites and freshman Ella Jolley added a two-hit outings.

Hamar improved to 3-0 on the season with a complete-game, one-hit and four strikeout performance.

Richhart went yard in game two, going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI. Detwiler added another 3-for-3 game with three RBI of her own. Three other Roadrunners earned multi-hit games, including Sites going 2-for-3 with a double.

Smith (13-2) earned the complete-game win, allowing only one hit, while fanning six.

Butte (25-6, 12-0) looks to remain perfect in conference play, heading to Redwoods next on Wednesday, Apr. 12. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
