Softball Outlasts Yuba in First Game, Drops Second in Conference Matchup

Marysville, Calif. - Four Roadrunners tallied three-hit games to help boost the Butte softball team to a 7-5 win over Yuba in eight innings in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader, but Butte dropped the second game, 7-1.

Sophomore Kylee Richhart and freshmen Emily Thurman, Midasia Wathen, and Madison West all went 3-for-4 with Richhart counting a pair of RBI and Thurman tallying a couple of doubles. Freshman Chloe Giannini added two stolen bases, while freshman Ashley Thurman had two RBI, and sophomore Riley Kucich earned a pair of hits.

In the circle, E. Thurman (2-2) tossed the complete game to earn the win.

A couple of errors proved costly in game two, with only three of Yuba's seven runs counting as earned. Freshman Breanna Williams (2-7) was charged with the complete-game loss with three strikeouts.

At the plate, Wathen, West, and Kucich counted the lone hits for the Roadrunners.

Butte (7-15, 2-2) resumes play in a non-conference makeup matchup at Sierra on Friday, Mar. 29. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
