Weinrich Tabbed NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete

Cleveland, Ohio - Freshman women's basketball forward Meghan Weinrich was named a National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Honorable Mention Scholar-Athlete, announced Monday.

Weinrich is one of 39 student-athletes over 12 sports at two-year colleges to be recognized, and she boasts a 3.91 cumulative GPA, majoring in Social and Behavioral Sciences. 

On the court, she was named All-State after leading the Roadrunners to a historic season and Elite 8 appearance. During the 2021-22 season, she averaged 21.1 points per game, shooting 42.4 percent from the field. She added 9.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

To be eligible for the award, nominees must meet the following criteria: minimum 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale with a minimum of 36 semester hours or 45 quarter hours with a minimum of 24 semester/36 quarter hours at the nominating institution; participation in a minimum of one complete season of varsity competition at the nominating institution; outstanding athletics success; and outstanding qualities of leadership and citizenship. Spring sport athletes may be considered for nomination the following year.
