Roadrunners Take Mt. SAC Tip-Off Title; Improve to 4-0

Walnut, Calif. - The Butte women's basketball team captured the Mt. SAC Tip-Off title, defeating the host team 71-47 on Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Roadrunners' record to 4-0.

Freshman Jordan Arreola led all scorers with 20 points, going 7-for-13 from the field, and shooting 40 percent beyond the arc. Sophomore Meghan Weinrich backed her up with 15 points with 16 boards, five assists, and three steals.

Sophomore Tessa Kinney and freshman Madalynn Bassett each counted nine points, while Kinney earned five boards.

Butte got out to a quick five-point edge after the first 10 minutes and never looked back, sealing the tournament title on a 21-8 fourth quarter. The team capitalized on 25 Mountie turnovers, scoring 30 points on their turnovers, while outrebounding Mt. SAC, 43-33.

The Roadrunners return home to host defending CCCAA champion, Sierra, on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.
