Roadrunners Earn Decisive 76-50 Win over LA Valley

Visalia, Calif. - The Butte women's basketball team opened up competition at the 46th Annual Gilcrest Tournament with a decisive 76-50 win over LA Valley on Thursday afternoon.

The Roadrunners were led by freshman Jordan Arreola's game-high 19 points on 4-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Sophomore Meghan Weinrich backed her up with 17 points, nine boards, four assists, and six steals.

Butte took a 40-17 lead into the half with Arreola capturing 11 of her points in the first 20 minutes. Three other players, freshmen Sarah Tait and Madalynn Bassett and sophomore Cassidy King, contributed nine points each to the final effort.

The Roadrunners (9-1) will face Delta next in the Gilcrest Tournament in the semifinals on Friday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
