No. 6 Women's Basketball Run Past Shasta in Conference Home Opener

Oroville, Calif. - The No. 6 Butte women's basketball team jumped out to a quick 26-9 lead in the first 10 minutes en route to a 65-40 victory over Shasta in the Roadrunners' conference home opener on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Jordan Arreola paced all scorers with a game-high 16 points with five assists, while sophomore Meghan Weinrich added 13 points with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Freshman Madalynn Bassett rounded out the scorers in double-figures with 11 off the bench.

The Roadrunners built a 46-15 lead in the first 20 minutes with Butte outscoring Shasta 28-18 in the paint and 19-4 points from the bench overall. 

Butte (18-3, 3-1) host Lassen next on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
