Weinrich Adds Another Big Honor to Impressive Resume

Santa Rosa, Calif. - Sophomore forward Meghan Weinrich added another big honor to her already impressive collegiate resume, being voted by the Northern California women's basketball coaches as the NorCal Player of the Year, announced Sunday.

The 2022 NorCal Player of the Year runner-up, Weinrich was named All-State in 2022, CCCAA Female Athlete of the Month for January 2022, two-time Golden Valley Conference Most Valuable Player, two-time Golden Valley Conference First Team, Butte Athletics Female Athlete of the Month for December 2022 and February 2023, and numerous tournament MVP and All-Tournament honors over the past two seasons. This is on top of her being named a NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete, Butte Athletics Scholar-Athlete, and a member of the 2021-22 CCCAA Women's Basketball Scholar Team of the Year.

Heading into playoffs this season, Weinrich has amassed 479 points (18.4 ppg) on 41 percent shooting, 289 rebounds (11.1 rpg), 134 assists (5.2 apg), 91 steals (3.5 spg), and 26 blocked shots. She has led the team to its first-ever No. 1 seed in the North and a 24-3 overall record.

Weinrich and the fourth-ranked, top-seeded Roadrunners will face the winner of the No. 16 Merced/No. 17 Hartnell matchup on Saturday, Feb. 25. Tickets go on sale, as well as the game time will be released, on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 8 a.m.
