No. 1 Women's Basketball Hosts No. 8 Folsom Lake with Elite Eight on the Line

Oroville, Calif. - The top-seeded Butte women's basketball team hosts eighth-seeded Folsom Lake for the CCCAA Women's Basketball Northern Regional Final on Saturday, Mar. 4. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., and the winner advances to the Elite Eight and CCCAA Championships, hosted by West Hills Lemoore.

The Roadrunners enter the matchup after dominating Merced, 96-54, in the CCCAA Regional Round Two with sophomore Meghan Weinrich posting a 26 point, 16 rebound effort. Folsom Lake narrowly escaped Feather River to advance to the regional final, topping the Golden Eagles, 72-68. The Falcons boast a 23-6 overall record, 12-4 in Big 8 play. 

The two teams met earlier this season on December 8 with Butte winning 71-62, led by Weinrich's 26 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists. Sophomore Sanaya Shrader tacked on 19 points and 18 rebounds. 

CCCAA postseason ticket prices are in effect. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for senior citizens (60+), children 12 and under, students (with valid ID), and faculty and staff. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Butte Athletics Box Office or via credit card or check at the door. No cash will be accepted for entry.
