Women's Basketball Quintet Sign to the Next Level

Oroville, Calif. - Coming off a state runner-up performance, five Butte women's basketball players signed with four-year schools on Wednesday evening.

Forward Meghan Weinrich is headed to Oral Roberts (NCAA Division I), point guard Cassidy King signed with Minot State (NCAA Division II), center Sanaya Shrader inked with Barry (NCAA Division II), and forward Tessa Kinney and guard Makenzee Moretto are going to Simpson (NAIA).

Weinrich, the 2023 NorCal Player of the Year, finished her career at Butte having played in 58 games. She averaged 20.1 points per game on 42.3 percent shooting, adding 11.4 rebounds per game, 4.8 assists per game, 3.5 steals per game, and 1.1 blocked shots per game.

King was a consistent force for the Roadrunners, playing in 56 games, and boasting a 2.1 assist to turnover ratio. She added 4.1 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game, 1.2 steals per game, and 5.0 points per game.

Shrader averaged 7.7 points per game over her 53 career games played on 56.8 percent shooting. She added 8.3 rebounds per game and 1.3 steals per game.

Kinney played in 56 games for the Roadrunners, averaging 2.9 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Moretto appeared in 37 games over her two seasons with Butte. She scored 1.9 points per game on 43.1 percent shooting and 1.3 rebounds per game.
