No. 3 Women's Basketball Motors Past No. 6 Moorpark

Walnut, Calif. - Sophomore Madalynn Bassett netted a game-high 24 points to pace the No. 3 Butte women's basketball team's offense, leading the Roadrunners to a 68-56 win over No. 6 Moorpark in the Mt. SAC Tip-Off Classic semifinal on Saturday evening.

Bassett shot 80 percent from the field, knocking down seven buckets from beyond the arc with a game-high eight boards. Freshman Morgan Trigueiro backed her up with 15 points, shooting 75 percent and 2-of-3 from long range. She tacked on five boards and four assists. Sophomore Sarah Tait rounded out the Roadrunners in double figures with 10 points.

Butte doubled Moorpark's points in paint, tallying 24 total, while capitalizing on the Raiders' 18 turnovers converting them into 21 points.

Butte (3-0) will face host team, No. 4 Mt. San Antonio, for the second year in a row for the Mt. SAC Tip-Off Classic title on Sunday, Nov. 5. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m.
