No. 2 Women's Basketball Stops No. 7 Sierra

Rocklin, Calif. - Four of the No. 2 Butte women's basketball starters reached double figures, combining for 60 points as the Roadrunners stopped No. 7 Sierra, 87-67, on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore Sarah Tait scored a team-high 18 points with seven rebounds and four steals, while freshman Jocelyn Medina was close behind with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Freshmen Campbell Vieg and Morgan Trigueiro chipped in 14 and 12 points, respectively with Vieg adding seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals, and Trigueiro pulling down six boards.

After falling behind by a pair of points in the first quarter, Butte outscored Sierra by 11 in the second quarter and never looked back. The Roadrunners forced 27 Sierra turnovers, racking up 20 steals as a team.

Butte (4-1) returns to action, heading to American River next on Tuesday, Nov. 14 for a 6 p.m. tip.
