No. 1 Women's Basketball Wins Rematch with No. 3 Orange Coast

Monterey Park, Calif. - Freshman Jocelyn Medina dropped 27 points to propel the No. 1 Butte women's basketball team to a 76-67 rematch win over No. 3 Orange Coast on Friday evening in game two of the Okawa Classic.

Medina shot 10-of-13 from the field, 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, with 11 rebounds and a pair of assists. Freshmen Morgan Trigueiro and Campbell Vieg chipped in 17 and 13 points, respectively, with Vieg tallying five assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Sophomore Sarah Tait rounded out the starting scorers in double-figures with 10 points and five rebounds.

The Roadrunners held the Pirates to 33.3 percent shooting and under 30 percent from three-point range. Butte capitalized on 21 fast break points with 52 total points in the paint to Orange Coast's 24.

Butte (18-1) wraps up play in the Okawa Classic, facing Oxnard on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m.
