Jocelyn Medina, Women's Basketball

Freshman guard Jocelyn Medina is the Butte Athletics December Female Athlete of the Month.

In December, Medina helped the Butte women's basketball team to a perfect 11-0 mark and top-ranking in the state.

Overall in December, Medina shot 60 percent from the field (54-of-90), hitting 20 three-pointers, and connecting 81.8 percent of the time from the charity stripe, averaging 12.4 points per game. She continues to be the team's leading rebounder with 83 total (7.5 rpg), adding 34 assists and 20 steals.

She pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds against No. 14 Laney. And in the team's rematch of the 2023 3C2A Championship game against No. 3 Orange Coast, Medina went 10-of-13 , 4-of-6 from three-point range, for a career-high 27 points, adding 11 rebounds and a pair of assists.
