Sacramento, Calif. - Freshman Samantha Finnegan scored two goals within six minutes of each other in the first half to boost the Butte women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Sacramento City on Friday afternoon.
Sophomores Allison Witter and Sadie Weber picked up the assists on Finnegan's two goals in the 38th and 44th minutes, while sophomore Rylee Jellison counted an insurance goal in the 81st minute, assisted by sophomore Faith Burnett.
Finnegan, Jellison, Leeds, and Weber all tallied multi-shot on goal matches with Finnegan counting three.
Freshman Deana Marshbanks earned the win for Butte in the goal, earning a pair of saves.
Butte (1-1) remains on the road, heading to Modesto next on Tuesday, Sept. 5 for a 2 p.m. match.
