Rocklin, Calif. - Freshman Samantha Finnegan netted her fourth goal of the season, but the Butte women's soccer team came up short at Sierra, 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
Finnegan scored in the 26th minute off of an assist from freshman Brooke Richardson. The Roadrunners tallied six total shots, four shots on goal, in the match with Finnegan taking four shots, three on goal.
Freshman Deana Marshbanks played all 90 minutes in the goal, counting eight saves.
Butte (1-4) returns home to host Delta next on Friday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
