Wilkins Qualifies for CCCAA Championships in Shot Put

Hayward, Calif. - Sophomore thrower Asia Wilkins has qualified for the CCCAA Championships in shot put, finishing second at the NorCal Championships on Friday.

Wilkins posted a personal record of 11.74 meters after winning the Golden Valley Conference in shot put with a 11.70 meter mark. She nearly missed the qualifying mark for javelin, also finishing second, but with a 34.76 meter throw.

Overall, the Roadrunners tied for ninth at the NorCal Championships with 28.5 points.

Wilkins will head to the CCCAA Championships, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21. The shot put competition is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 at 4 p.m.
