Kalberer, Norman Lead Roadrunners at Cody Beaumont Invite

Redding, Calif. - Sophomores Madison Kalberer and Julia Norman continued to lead the Butte men's and women's track and field teams at the Cody Beaumont Invite on Friday.

Kalberer captured the top spot in the 100 meters (12.85), while Norman took first in the 400 meters (1:01.26). Freshman Talynn Schroeder topped the leaderboard in the 100 hurdles (16:32), followed by sophomore Lydia Binger (16.37) and freshman Sumarrah Bluett (17.14).

The women's 4x100 meter relay team (Schroeder, Kalberer, freshman Kianna Ruffin, Norman) hit the B standard in a time of 49.91, while Norman also earned a B standard in the long jump, taking the top spot (17-2.25).

On the men's side, freshman Jamie Marlin captured the 200-meter title (22.70) with freshman Will Jordan close behind (23.11). The men's 4x100 meter relay team (freshmen Alex Cardona, Brandon Smith, Marlin, Jordan) won the event in 43.16.

And sophomore Blake Suer nabbed the pole vault title with a mark of 10-11.75.

Overall, the men took the team title with a score of 150.5, edging Redwoods (111.5). The women finished second (148), just six points shy of tying first place Redwoods.

The Butte men's and women's track and field teams continue competition at the Chico Invite next on Saturday, Mar. 11.
