Curti Vaults "A" Standard at Cody Beaumont Invite

Redding, Calif. - Freshman Jenna Curti pole vaulted her way to reach the "A" standard with a mark of 9' 11.75" at the Cody Beaumont Invite, hosted by Shasta College on Saturday.

Curti won the event with her previous best being 9' 6.25" meters. She also finished third in the 100 meters (13.40).

Freshman Jasmine Guzeldere placed second in the 800 meters (2:36.27) and 1,500 meters (5:29.34), while sophomore Baylee Bowles took the high jump (4 ' 9.75") and triple jump (29' 2") titles. Sophomore Julia Norman won the long jump (16' 11.5") and javelin (128' 1").

On the men's side, sophomore Robert Moncrief took home the 800 meter title (2:06.71), while finishing second in the 1,500 meters (4:23.42). Freshman Christopher Brennan finished second in the 800 meters (2:07.62). 

The 4x100 relay team made up of sophomores Brandon Smith and Trezell Patterson and freshmen Parker Williams and Carter Gregorson took the top spot in a time of 44.33, with the 4x400 team (Brennan and freshmen Frederick Southworth, Steven Silva, and Mark Velazquez-Patino) came in second in a time of 3:41.57.

Sophomore Noah Doratt cleared a "B" mark height of 6' 0" in the high jump, good for second, and freshman Nate Southworth was second in the pole vault at a mark of 10' 11.75".

In the long jump, Patterson won the event with a mark of 20' 0.25", while freshman Skyler Sakrison finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 38' 2.25".

Freshman Takeshi Faupula took second in the shot put with a throw of 41' 4.5" with freshman Quamire Jones winning the discus with a toss of 127' 2".

The Roadrunners have a week off before heading to the Mike Fanelli Track Classic hosted by San Francisco State University, held at Chabot College.
