Risa Reynier, Women's Track and Field

Sophomore distance runner Risa Reynier is the Butte Athletics March Female Athlete of the Month.

Reynier not only hit the "A" standard in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic on March 30, but she also set a new school record in the event, breaking the record set in 2014 by nearly 40 seconds in a time of 12:45.47.

The race was her first attempt at the event this season, in which she knocked off nearly 90 seconds from her personal best in 2023, set at the NorCal Championships in May. And it crushes her time of 13:27.67 she ran earlier this month at the Wildcat Invitational of 13:27.67.

Additionally, Reynier has bested her 800 meter time by 12 seconds and 1,500 meter time by 15 seconds already from last year only four meets into the season.
